Make Your Own Styrofoam Wall Art

Adding silk flowers to the Styrofoam wall art is an attractive way to enhance a room.

Making wall art out of Styrofoam sheets is an interesting way to create lightweight decor for your bedroom or other wall areas in your home. This project is inexpensive and only takes one to two hours to complete. Using the correct materials for the wall art designs provides unlimited options to coordinate it with the colors and the theme of a room. This is a useful way to display a collection or other lightweight decor.

Instructions

1. Divide the foam sheet into three 12-inch squares using a pencil and a ruler. Rubbing an old candle along the blade of a serrated knife and then cutting the foam sheet along the markings with it makes this an uncomplicated process.

2. Glue a sheet of scrapbook paper to the front of each of the foam sheets with craft or school glue. Allow the scrapbook paper to dry completely.

3. Wrap the coordinating ribbon around the edge of the wall art. Attach it with the craft glue and hold it in place while it dries with straight pins if you desire. Remove the straight pins once the glue is dry.

4. Add a sawtooth picture hanger to the back section of the wall art with the hot glue gun. This allows you to hang the art on the wall easily.

5. Cut the stem off the silk flowers with wire cutters. Do this at the base behind the flower head.

6. Attach the silk flowers anywhere you desire on the scrapbook paper with a hot glue gun. Hang the three pieces of wall art in a horizontal line on the wall, stagger the heights or use them separately in different areas.
