An avatar is a way for you to represent yourself on the Internet. It is a small image that identifies you and can be anything you want. You can use a picture of yourself, an object, a cartoon or anything else you can think of. The possibilities are endless. You may want to use the same avatar everywhere including message boards, blogs and social networking sites. In these cases, you may want to upload your avatar to a website to make your own avatar URL.
Instructions
1. Choose the avatar you are going to use. You may want to browse a search engine such as Google to find pre-made avatars or use a photo you have on your computer.
2. Save your avatar image to your desktop by right-clicking on it and choosing "Save image as..." If you are using your own photo, skip this step.
3. Upload your image to a photo sharing site such as Photobucket. You can create an account free of charge.
4. Click "Upload now" and choose "Select photos and videos."
5. Click "Save and continue to my album." Click on your image to bring up more options. Here you can make modifications to the photo. You may want to decrease the size, fix red-eye, crop out background people or distractions or even add special effects.
6. Copy the direct link for your photo on the left side of the page. Use this link to identify your avatar anywhere on the Internet.
