Make Vector Art In Photoshop

Photoshop can create simple vector art, such as this.

Adobe Photoshop is a photo and graphic processor used to created all kinds of images. While it mostly deals with pixel-based images, it is capable of producing vector-based art. Vector art can be resized without any loss of resolution, while pixel-based (known as "rasterized") art results in image pixelation when altered. In Photoshop, the Pen tool creates vectors.

Instructions

1. Open a new document in Photoshop by selecting "New" from the "File" menu at the top.

2. Select the Pen tool from the toolbar and click in the stage area to create an "anchor."

3. Click somewhere else on the stage to create a second anchor--a "path" will connect them. To put a curve in the path, click and hold when you create an anchor and drag the mouse to the second anchor.

4. Continue making anchors and curves to draw your object. You may connect back to the original point to close your object, but it is not required.

5. To color the path's shape, select a color in the "Colors" panel and click the "Fill path with foreground color" icon in the "Paths" panel. If the icon is not visible, open the "Paths" panel by selecting "Paths" from the "Window" menu at the top.
