Download Animated Gifs

Animated GIF files are moving drawings often used in computer presentations for business and school. They also are a great substitute to Flash movies if you do not want a Flash website or you do not know Macromedia Flash. These images are easy to download from the Internet but are not always easy to use.

Instructions

1. Determine whether the image is copyrighted. Check for words like "royalty free" on the page. Email the website owner for permission to use an image. The owner is likely to give permission to download it for personal use and possibly for commercial use.

2. Select the correct image size. Look for different sizes of the same graphic if the image is in a graphics library.

3. Put the mouse cursor over the image after you have the image you want.

4. Keep pressing on the mouse button until you see a menu with an option to "Save As" on a Mac. Rename the file.

5. Move the cursor over the image on a PC. Press the right mouse button. Select "Save Picture As" when you see a menu pop up. Give the image a name and select "Save."

6. Open the animated GIF in your Web browser to view it. Select "File." Click on "Open" and "Browse." Find the file and select "OK."
