Make Art From Guitar Strings

If you're a guitar player, you know that the strings need to be changed periodically. You're also bound to have an occasional broken string. Don't throw them away. Save those old strings and the broken strings and turn them into a work of art.

Instructions

1. Save about 25 to 25 old guitar strings of various weights and while you're at it, save a few colorful guitar picks as well.

2. Place the square of Styrofoam or floral foam in the bottom of a vase or jar, trimming it to fit snugly.

3. Cut the guitar strings into various lengths between 12 and 18 inches, or as desired.

4. Poke the guitar strings into the Styrofoam block or floral foam.

5. Add some small, colorful beads to a few of the strings, using a small amount of hot glue to hold them in place, if necessary.

6. Glue the guitar picks to the ends of the guitar strings, in any arrangement that you desire. They can look like abstract art, or like flowers or butterflies.
