Make Funny Money
With Your Own Pictures
Making paper money with your own pictures can be a fun craft project for kids. You can also use the money as pretend currency or tickets at a carnival or other event, or include it in a homemade board game. Get together with friends or family on a rainy day to work on this project. Experiment with different designs and photographs, and have fun!
Instructions
1. Design a template for your funny money. Use a ruler to mark out the money's dimensions on a white sheet of paper, and leave a circle or oval space in the center for a picture. To save time, you can print a template from a website, but making it yourself can be more fun.
2. Use markers or pens to indicate the money's value and to decorate the borders of the money.
3. Choose a small picture of yourself, a friend, a family member, or a favorite character that you will put on your funny money. If you don't want to cut up the picture, make a photocopy of it to use. Then trace an oval or circle shape around the person's face, and cut the shape out.
4. Place this picture on your funny money template and secure it with rubber cement or glue.
5. Photocopy the funny money, making as many copies as needed or desired. For more efficient use of paper, glue several photocopied templates onto a single sheet of paper, and then continue photocopying using that sheet as the new template. For fun colors or more durable funny money, use brightly colored paper or thick card stock.
6. Cut out your funny money using scissors or a paper cutter.
