No other image has captured the imagination of the digital age like that of the iconic CD... except maybe an animated picture of a spinning CD. With the technological advancement of the internet there is an increased social desire to spice up standard images with the use of animation. An animated GIF is a way to achieve this illusion, working in much the same way as a flip book. There are three popular websites for animated GIF creation: Gifninja, MakeAGif and GICKR.
Instructions
Preparation
1. Open your image in a graphics editing program.
2. Crop the image so that it is perfectly square. Align the center of the CD to the exact middle of the image.
3. Select a destination folder and save the image as "image_1."
4. Rotate the image 90 degrees and save as "image_2"
Creating an Animated Picture Using Gifninja
5. Open your web browser and go to the Gifninja page. Click on the top "Choose File" button.
6. Locate and select "image_1" within the search box. Click "Open."
7. Click on the "Choose File" button that is second from the top. Locate and select "image_2" within the search box. Click "Open."
8. Pull the animation speed slider to the far right. Click on "make my gif."
9. Preview the animated GIF on the preview page. Click on the link that reads "Yes - it's fantastic!" Type in the desired title and tags for the Animated GIF. Click "Save gif."

10. Open your web browser and go to the MakeAGif page. Click on the first "Choose File" button.
11. Locate and select "image_1" within the search box. Click "Open."
12. Click on the second "Choose File" button. Locate and select "image_2" within the search box. Click "Open."
13. Click "yes" on the loop gif animation option. Set the animation speed to "faster."
14. Click on "Create GIF."

15. Open your web browser and go to the GICKR page. Click on the top "Choose File" button.
16. Locate and select "image_1" within the search box. Click "Open."
17.Click on the "Choose File" button located second from the top. Locate and select "image_2" within the search box. Click "Open."
18. Select the desired size from the "Size:" drop-down menu. Choose "Fast" from the "Speed:" drop-down menu. Locate and click on "continue."
19. Preview the animation, and if you are satisfied, click on "Download to your computer."
