If you're a jokester, then you probably enjoy role playing games and harmless pranks on your friends. One of the easiest is making a prank phone call. All you need is a phone and perhaps the ability to realistically disguise your voice. It doesn't require a lot of skill, but the below tips might make your call more effective.
Instructions
1. Choose the person who you'll be making the prank call to. You should probably pick a friend who you know has a good sense of humor and who'll laugh about the call once they know it was you.
2. Figure out what type of prank call you'll make. Prank calls shouldn't be sexual, demeaning or in any way hurt anyone. Choose the topic of your prank call based on what your friend would think is funny. You can pretend you need directions to some obscure place. Other topics that could be funny when you make a prank call are finding the definition of a certain word or information about a plant species.
3. Practice the ability to sound genuinely confused, interested, excited or intrigued. If you're calling someone you know, then practice effectively disguising your voice so the person doesn't recognize you when you make a prank call.
4. Rehearse what you're going to say before you make the call. Think up answers to possible responses so you won't be caught off guard.
5. Block your phone number before you make the call. You can do this with most land lines. The number you dial to block your phone number varies based on place and telephone service provider.
6. Politely say you've got the wrong number if you lose your nerve and don't want to complete a prank call after you've dialed the number and someone has answered. It's rude to simply hang up and doing so could also be considered harassment.
